Historically Samsung has been pretty good with getting updates out in a timely fashion, but the company hasn’t seemed in any hurry to get Android 4.4.4 out, leaving even the Galaxy S5 trailing behind on Android 4.4.2.
The good news is that an update is in the pipeline and not just for the Galaxy S5 but for a number of other handsets as well.
A leaked roadmap shows that the Samsung Galaxy S5, Galaxy Note 3 and Galaxy Note 3 LTE will each be getting upgraded to Android 4.4.4 sometime in October and indeed that the update has been completed for each of them.
It’s also in the final testing stages for the Samsung Galaxy S4, Galaxy S4 LTE and Galaxy Note 3 Neo, each of which should receive it in November.
Its status is pending for the Galaxy S4 Mini, Galaxy S4 Mini Duos, Galaxy Grand 2, Galaxy Grand 2 Duos, Galaxy Note 2 and Galaxy Note 2 LTE but despite its pending status it will apparently still roll out in November.
Gforgames got hold of the leaked roadmap and advises readers to take it with a pinch of salt, so it’s possible that it could be wrong, but with any luck a large number of Samsung phones will be on Android 4.4.4 very shortly, which is good news, especially with Android L fast approaching.
If you have a Samsung phone which isn’t on this list then don’t hold your breath as there’s every chance that Samsung won’t be updating it.
