The Acer Iconia Tab A500 has won the prestigious European Imaging and Sound Association ( EISA ) award for European Tablet 2011 to 2012. EISA is an association of 50 special interest magazines from 19 European countries. Internationally known for the European EISA Awards ( EISA ) which began awarding awards in 1982.
3G did not see the The Acer Iconia Tab A500 as the main contender to win the European Tablet Award, I mean whatever happened to Apple's iPad and the Motorola Xoom to name just two other competing tablets.
3G reviewed the The Acer Iconia Tab A500 in July this year when our reviewer awarded the tablet 3 stars but a hint of its greatness came from our reviewer when he commented "A good looking tablet and the best Android device we've seen from Acer, the Tab A500 offers a decent alternative to the Motorola Xoom".
The Acer Iconia Tab A500 has a 10.1-inch LED back-lit screen, nVidia Tegra 2 dual-core processor and Android 3.0 ( Honeycomb ) OS. The tablet comes with a linear design and a brushed aluminium frame and cover.
Wireless connectivity is provided via 3G, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. There are USB and micro USB ports, GPS and a micro HDMI output for 1080p video to enhance TV viewing.
A rear-facing 5 megapixel camera features autofocus and flash and is the main camera while there is also a forward facing 2 megapixel camera for video calls. The Acer ICONIA TAB A500 comes with the Clear.Fi media app which manages photos, music and videos.
