UK : To celebrate its luxury handset, AURA™, Motorola commissioned a new photo shoot with one of the world’s most stylish icons, David Beckham.
Possibly one of the world’s most photographed men, Beckham appears in a unique advert, exposing exactly what drives the England and AC Milan star from within. Inspired by a modern interpretation of classical renaissance sculpture, as well as the beauty, power and craftsmanship of the AURA phone, the image captures the intricate workings of David as never seen before and will launch as part of an advertising campaign from the end of April.
The image expresses how inner power and precision drives outward beauty and a finely sculpted form, similar to the design of AURA and Beckham himself. Shot in downtown Milan by celebrated Hollywood director Anthony Mandler, the final result uses cutting-edge post production techniques to show Beckham in a different light.
AURA by Motorola is a celebration of artistry and design, inspired by luxury timepieces, and features a Swiss-made main bearing and more than 700 individual components in a stainless steel body that takes more than two weeks to etch and sculpt.
The circular screen, the first of its kind for any mobile phone, displays a brilliant 16 million colours in 300dpi resolution, protected by a 62 carat sapphire lens – one of the most scratch resistant materials on earth.
The refinement of the handset is something that impressed Beckham who said: “Motorola always seem to come up with something different, a concept that no one else has, and they’ve certainly done that again with AURA.” He added: “I love classic watches, so a phone that exposes its mechanics while also being so stylish is really unique.
