Novatel Wireless Announces USB HSPA Data Modem

1st April, 2009

US : Novatel Wireless Inc announced the Ovation MC935D USB Modem, a compact HSPA mobile broadband device designed to provide consumers and enterprise users with reliable and secure broadband access.

Optimized for HSPA networks in Europe with single-band 2100Mhz operation, the Ovation MC935D provides peak download speeds of up to 7.2 Mbps and peak upload speeds of 5.76 Mbps.

With a sleek, stylish design and an extremely streamlined form factor (only 10mm thick), the MC935D fits comfortably in any pocket, enabling the user to securely surf the Web, check email and remain connected to friends, family and coworkers while on the go.

“The MC935D was developed specifically to provide an optimal connectivity solution for European mobile broadband subscribers,” said Peter Leparulo, Chairman and CEO of Novatel Wireless. “Whether in London, Paris, Milan or anywhere else on the continent, the Ovation MC935D provides the high speed Internet access and reliability that enterprise and consumer users require.”

Featuring Mobilink 3 Connection Manager Software preinstalled on the modem’s on-board memory, the MC935D is ready to plug-and-play. With support for single-band HSUPA/HSDPA as well as quad-band EDGE/GPRS for global roaming, and an integrated broadband antenna, the MC935D offers exceptional performance even in crowded and highly mobile environments or when traveling outside of Europe.

The MC935D also ships with Novatel Wireless’ proprietary NovaSpeed broadband accelerator preinstalled which can substantially enhance performance when sending and receiving data simultaneously. The Ovation MC935D will be available Q2 of 2009.
