|
9th June , 2004 |
|
The i-mode server, an enabling element for each deployment of i-mode service, acts as a mobile gateway to facilitate fast, highly available mobile connectivity. The i-mode service for mobile phone communications is changing the way people in Japan and other countries live and work. More than 41 million subscribers in Japan and over 2 million subscribers in other markets throughout most of Europe and Asia use i-mode Internet sites in many languages for online information, entertainment, gaming, email, and database services such as shopping, banking, dining, and ticket reservations. "i-mode is a great service and a resounding consumer success that continues to grow in the European and Asian markets," commented Mr. Shigeru Sando, Managing Director, i-mode Global Business Development, NTT DoCoMo, Inc. "Comverse brings broad experience, expertise and a global support structure, making it an ideal partner to promote our joint vision of a new global communications culture in which people everywhere will use mobile terminals to access multimedia content and services through a borderless global network." "Convenient access to highly interesting and useful content and applications is a key to realizing the potential of mobile communications," said Benny Einhorn, Chief Marketing Officer at Comverse. "We are pleased to work with NTT DoCoMo to facilitate aggressive i-mode market growth, and look forward to expanding our role in bringing i-mode service to the global user community." |
