Europe : Nine months after introducing the Push to Talk concept, T-Mobile Austria is now able to look back at some very positive developments. A huge number of business customers have been testing Push to Talk since autumn 2004, in a test phase supported by major funding. The next step is the commercial launch of the system for business customers. T-Mobile is the first and only network operator in Austria to offer all its business customers the chance to try Push to Talk for free until the end of the year. The infrastructure for T-Mobile Austria’s Push to Talk solution is being provided by Nokia. Testing since autumn 2004

and 70 other countries around the world Group communication at
the touch of a button - how easy is that? It’s easy to set
up participant groups at any time using the phone’s menu. Once
a group has been set up, all you need to do is press the Push to Talk
button to establish a connection. Similar to a walkie-talkie, Push
to Talk allows only one group member to speak at any one time. All
members of the group can see who is "receiving" within the
defined group at any given time. If the user wants to speak to just
one person, they would simply select the appropriate person from the
group and then press the Push to Talk button to establish the connection. |
