COM
DEV International Ltd. today announced that its operating division,
COM DEV Broadband, and AirPrime of Santa Clara, California, have joined
efforts to demonstrate interoperability of commercial 1xEV-DO equipment
at the Cellular Telecommunications and Internet Association (CTIA) Show,
which opens this week in Orlando, Florida. Using their respective CDMA
2000, 1xEV-DO, IS-856 infrastructure and terminal equipment hardware,
the Companies are setting the standard for commercial availability of
high-speed wireless 3G systems. COM DEV Broadband is a leading designer
and manufacturer of high-speed wireless data systems. AirPrime supplies
high-speed, CDMA wireless access solutions to the OEM market. "The availability of data-optimized 3G products from COM DEV and AirPrime enable service providers to deliver broadband wireless data services and to generate new and immediate sources of revenue and growth," said John Keating, Chief Operating Officer at COM DEV. "The M/ERGY system offers operators a single, broadband wireless platform to provide both fixed and mobile data services, thereby eliminating the costs of managing multiple technologies.
