KPorts-to-telecoms conglomerate Hutchison Whampoa said on Thursday it targets one million third-generation mobile phone users each in the UK and Italy in 2003.

The company is scheduled to launch Europe's first 3G mobile phone networks, in Britain and Italy, in the fourth quarter of 2002.
