US : Sprint and Samsung announced the first two-megapixel camera phone in the United States, the Sprint PCS VisionSM Multimedia Phone MM-A800 by Samsung®. This unique slider phone is a multimedia powerhouse, allowing customers to capture two-megapixel still images and VGA-quality videos, listen to digital music files, and text message at lightning speed with voice commands and dictation, all in one intelligently designed device.

In addition to capturing crisp two-megapixel images, the MM-A800 by Samsung with Picture MailSM services has traditional digital-camera features, including a TransFLASH memory card slot (32MB card included), auto focus, 2.5x digital zoom, flash, color adjustments, fun frames and multishot. The content, played on the embedded media player, is directly delivered to the MM-A800 by Samsung from the high-speed (CDMA1X) Sprint Nationwide PCS Network. Sprint and Samsung were the first to launch a device in the United States capable of streaming audio and video live and on demand at up to 15 frames per second across a CDMA network in August 2004.

Once the message is addressed, the user is able to employ VoiceMode to populate the message with text by just speaking the words into the phone.
