Europe Germany : CETECOM and Communology have announced a new test solution for specific Java applications on mobile communications devices.
Thanks to two Communology “mte PTCRB” test platforms which have been installed at its mobile communications test centres CETECOM can now offer Java conformance tests according to the new GSMNA (GSM North America) test specifications. These tests ensure that a Java capable mobile communications device meets the standards required by GSMNA for the USA and Canada.
The Java conformance test cases have been developed under the lead of the GSMNA Java Task Force following the GSMNA core requirements which have been compiled in a series of meetings of manufacturers, network operators and Java application developers. Today, a set of 24 Java test cases is included in the PTCRB test specifications and is mandatory to receive the PTCRB approval for entering the North American market.
Communology’s mte (Mobile Test Edition) platform has been developed according to these specifications and is one of the first commercially available and fully integrated test environments to test the software quality of the latest technologies on terminals from the consumer’s point of view.
