Two Companies Aim to Enable Early Adoption of 3G LTE

13th July , 2009

Europe : A new 3G LTE reference platform is currently in development by Lime Microsystems and Blue Wonder Communications. Both companies see the new platform helping to quicken the time to market for OEMs developing 3G LTE systems.

The key elements of the new 3G LTE reference platform are Blue Wonder’s base band solution and Lime Microsystems' single chip transceiver ( RF ).

The reference platform is based on Lime Microsystems' integrated single chip RF transceiver, the LMS6002 ( above ), and Blue Wonder's integrated advanced base band solution.

Lime Microsystems' integrated single chip RF transceiver, LMS6002 is designed for small base stations and femtocells and is multi band. It operates between 375MHz and 4GHz which is ideal for 3G, WiMax and LTE.

Blue Wonder’s advanced base band solution is a 3G LTE subsystem which can be integrated in System on Chip platforms. . It provides a 3GPP Release 8 TDD and RFF multi-mode solution, up to category 4 and is designed for low power consumption. Blue Wonder will provide an FPGA based development system, which includes an interface to Lime’s LMS6002 transceiver to allow all required interoperability tests.
