The iPhone 16e is Apple’s latest affordable iPhone, but this successor to the iPhone SE is a big improvement on that series of phones.

The iPhone 16e ditches the SE’s home button and big bezels, and replaces them with slim bezels, a far more premium design, and Face ID.

The iPhone 16e also has other high-end features like Apple Intelligence – so you can use the company’s AI features – and a customisable Action button, providing you with a hardware shortcut to an app or feature of your choice.

You’ll also get a 6.1-inch OLED screen on the iPhone 16e, with the same contrast ratio as the iPhone 16, making this great for watching shows, reading websites, or playing games.

Plus, the iPhone 16e has impressive battery life, lasting for up to 26 hours of video playback before it needs a charge, and its A18 chipset gives it plenty of power.

It only has a single-lens camera, but this is a powerful 48MP snapper and it can double as a 2x zoom camera, offering optical quality zoomed in images.

The phone is durable too, with Ceramic Shield on the front – which Apple claims is tougher than any smartphone glass – and an IP68 rating, so it can survive heavy rain or falling in a swimming pool.

You can also get the iPhone 16e with up to 512GB of storage, so there’s plenty of room for endless apps, and it has an eSIM (as well as a physical SIM card slot), 5G, and the ability to connect to a satellite so you can get emergency assistance even when there’s no signal.
