About Honor

Honor is a major Chinese phone brand that once belonged to Huawei and now has set out on its own.

It’s inherited much of Huawei’s expertise, meaning its phones often have stunning designs and excellent screens and cameras, but with full access to the Google Play Store – which is something Huawei’s phones lack.

Honor’s handsets also span a range of prices, so whether you’re looking for something expensive or affordable, there’s an Honor handset for you.

Why choose Three for your Honor phone

Three is a great choice for your Honor phone as 5G comes as standard on all of its plans, so as long as you pick a 5G Honor handset you’ll be able to access the highest possible data speeds.

Three also offers plans with unlimited data, so you can browse, stream, and download without limits, and it won’t cost a fortune to do so, as Three often undercuts the other big-name networks.

Plus, with Three you get access to the Three+ app, which is packed full of a regularly updated selection of exclusive offers and discounts from other brands.

Three also offers both Wi-Fi Calling and 4G Calling as standard, and gives you inclusive tethering, as well as low-cost roaming in Europe and beyond.

Which Honor phones support 5G?

Right now a handful of Honor phones support 5G, including the Honor 50, the Honor Magic 4 Pro, and the Honor Magic 4 Lite.

Which Honor phone should I choose?

There are a few things to consider when buying an Honor phone. The first is whether you want 5G – if not then there are a lot more options, but we’d generally recommend a 5G handset as they’re far more future-proofed.

Then the big question is how much you want to spend, but our top two picks would be either the Honor Magic 4 Pro if you want something high-end, or the Honor Magic 4 Lite if you want something more affordable. These both support 5G too.

Top Honor phone

The Honor Magic 4 Pro is the top Honor phone. It’s a top-tier flagship and one of the best phones of 2022, with highlights including a powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset, a massive 6.81-inch 1312 x 2848 AMOLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate, a superb quad-lens camera, and water resistance.

It sports remarkably fast charging too, with its 4,600mAh battery juicing up with up to 100W of power whether you charge it wired or wirelessly.

Most affordable Honor phone

The most affordable Honor phone on Three right now is the Honor Magic 4 Lite. This is a mid-range 5G phone with a 6.81-inch 120Hz screen, 66W fast charging, a triple-lens camera, a 4,800mAh battery and 6GB of RAM.

It takes much of the essence of the premium Honor Magic 4 Pro and offers it at a far more affordable price.

Top value Honor phone

The top value Honor phone on Three at the time of writing is arguably the Honor Magic 4 Lite, as it has a lot of fairly impressive features at a much lower price than Honor’s flagship.

Its FHD+ 120Hz screen impresses, as does it battery life and fast charging, while its performance won’t hold you back, it includes 5G, and it comes in at a lower mid-range price.

Latest Honor phones

The Honor Magic 4 Pro and the Honor Magic 4 Lite are the company’s latest phones at the time of writing. As noted above, the former is a high-end handset while the latter is mid-range – with little more than an entry-level price. They hit stores in April 2022.

Honor in summary

There’s a huge number of Chinese smartphone brands, but Honor is one that’s really worth paying attention to. The company used to specialise in affordable flagships, but now it’s entered the big leagues and can genuinely compete with the likes of Samsung and Apple.

That’s not to say that you can’t get affordable phones too though, as Honor also offers a selection of excellent value mid-range handsets.
