Europe
: TDC Mobile opens its 3G network for residential customers. Thus,
all existing and future residential and business customers and also
TDC’s Duet customers will have access to mobile broadband cards,
increased speed and video telephony on their 3G phones. Already on
October 3, TDC Mobile’s business customers got access to the
higher speeds via the mobile broadband card.
3G equals higher speed
on the mobile network. Both for the laptop PC and for the mobile phone.
All TDC Mobile customers automatically get access to the 3G network
and the new increased speeds with their SIM cards. It only re-quires
that they purchase a mobile broadband card or a 3G mobile phone.
As regards the laptop PC,
it means that via a mobile broadband card from TDC Mobile, customers
can surf the Internet with speeds up to six-seven times faster than
what they are used to from the mobile network.
”We have chosen to
introduce the new speeds and possibilities based on what customers
already know from their PC’s at home: email and surfing the
Inter-net. That is why we offer our customers a mobile broadband card
making it possible for them to be online with their laptops when on
the road and away from home: in the bus, at the cafe or in the park.
No more looking around for network plugs or struggling with connecting
the laptop with the mobile phone”, says Anders B. Christjansen,
Senior Vice President in TDC Mobile.
”With a
3G mobile phone the higher speeds mean that our customers get fa-ster
access to TDC Mobile’s mobile portal Fly and other Internet
pages via their mobile phone. And customers get access to the increased
speed without having to renounce the good coverage on speech, supplied
by TDC today,” says Anders B. Christjansen and continues “at
the same time our customers will experience that it becomes easier
to use email on the mobile phone, just as both residential and business
customers now may experience video teleph-ony with their 3G mobile
phones.
To make the faster speeds
and new services available for a large public, TDC Mobile cut more
than half of prices on data transmission back at the begin-ning of
September.
The 3G network
has coverage in the four largest Danish cities and is devel-oped on
an ongoing basis. You may read more about prices, products and coverage
