Above shows the Helius MediaGate router. US : Helius and Internet Connectivity Group (ICG) joined forces to deliver Cellular Connected Digital Signage solutions based on the Helius MediaGate router and ICG’s Top Global USA MobileBridge 3G (Third Generation) wireless router products using Sprint’s nationwide Power VisionSM network. This partnership will bring digital connectivity to the IP video industry and enable faster deployment of applications such as digital signage and distance learning. As digital signage becomes an increasingly common marketing tool for retailers, restaurant operators and mall owners, the ability to install digital signage screens without any hard-wired network connectivity is an important advantage that ICG’s cellular products can deliver. Corporate distance learning via training videos distributed from one location to many others across the organization also benefits from the flexibility of wireless cellular installation. Using the Helius MediaGate routers to process and store video and ICG’s 3G cellular hardware running on the Sprint Power VisionSM network provides these businesses the power to inexpensively deliver IP video content where and when they want it. “The ICG products are a great fit and expand connectivity options for our customers,” said Kim Clark, CTO of Helius, Inc. “By combining the flexibility of cellular connections with Helius’ sophisticated IP video hardware and software, our customers can quickly and inexpensively install top quality IP video systems anywhere there is a cell signal.” The 3G connectivity solutions enable Digital Signage and Distance Learning applications to be deployed in remote locations where wired Internet connectivity is unavailable or expensive. By eliminating the need for extended cabling, 3G cellular can both speed up and simplify the installation of IP video solutions. “Sprint is delighted to support this new and innovative deployment of 3G technologies,” said John Muscarella, director – business solutions partners, Sprint. “Video delivery for applications like digital signage continues to push the boundaries of new business for us.” In addition to providing network connectivity for applications like Digital Signage and Distance Learning, ICG’s Top Global USA MobileBridge hardware offers WiFi hot spot services. This affords service and retail business customers increased productivity through WiFi connectivity. “We are very pleased to partner with Helius and extend the delivery of applications such as digital signage,” said Kurtis Van Horn, President of Internet Connectivity Group. “By coupling the innovative Helius IP video technologies and the MobileBridge product line we are able to extend cutting-edge media applications to the global marketplace.” Helius will be showcasing these combined products at the Helius Partner Summit, October 3-4, 2006 at the Provo, Utah, Marriott Hotel. |
