ZTE has quietly launched a new 3G mobile phone called the ZTE Racer. It’s classed as a smartphone and runs on the Android operating system. The ZTE Racer has on board GPS via a 3G WCDMA connection and includes embedded Google Maps. The QVGA touch screen is diddy at 2.8-inches whilst the main camera is only 3.2 megapixels.
Interestingly, it has Flashcode which is a barcode reader to identify products quickly and accurately. Additionally, you download all the Apps you need from Android Market.
The ZTE Racer has been primed for Bouygues Telecom in France but will be coming to the UK soon and with 3 UK previously taking a number of ZTE’s 3G mobile phones and 3G mobile broadband dongles don’t be surprised to see the ZTE Racer landing with 3 UK this year.
The ZTE Racer has email, Google Talk and Gmail. Google Talk chat messages are stored and read in your Gmail account. The built-in Roadsync mail and calendar application allows synchronization of e-mail and calendar with an Exchange server. In addition, office documents can be viewed on the phone with the Document To Go software—which offers added support for Word, PPT, Excel, and PDF files.
