BlackBerry Empathy Concept Mobile Unveiled

Designers Kiki Tang and Daniel Yoon were set a challenge to design a mobile that incorporated human emotions and social networking and the result is quite spectacular.

They designed the Empathy mobile which is used in conjunction with a biometrics ring that is used to  collect "emotional data". Every contact on your mobile will then have an "avatar" . which is composed of two rings that show their current emotional state  and their previous state.

The system can also be used to monitor a persons state over a period of time to see how certain events have changed their mood. For example, if you ring a friend who was sad and make them happy you can feel you've done a good job.

The mobile will also have a proximity sensor which will alert you when you are in the room with friends and will bring up their mood,  so you know how to behave.

It's a very futuristic idea which doesn't seem that unlikely, but whether people want the world to know how their feeling is another thing altogether.

The mobile itself looks stunning and features a very futuristic design and has a transparent OLED screen which becomes opaque during interaction.

Obviously this mobile isn't likely to hit the market anytime soon, but we do like the design and think it could be used by Blackberry in future mobiles.
