HTC Desire 310 becomes company's first smartphone to feature a MediaTek processor
HTC inadvertently posting details of a new smartphone called the HTC Desire 310. It appeared on HTC Europe's website but has since been taken down, but not before the specification and images were spotted.
The HTC Desire 310 will ship with Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean and come with a 4.5 inch FWVGA Display and a resolution of 480 x 854 which equates to a ppi of 215.
Looking at the display and the fact that there is no 4G connectivity, the Desire 310 immediately falls into the category of an affordable smartphone.
HTC have include a MediaTek processor for the first time in one of its smartphones, with HTC Desire 310 having a quad-core MediaTek MT6582M running at 1.3GHz. This is complemented with 512MB of RAM and 4GB of on-board storage.
Of course, this seems like a follow up the HTC Desire 300 announced last October and it has a very similar specification and feature set.
The HTC Desire is expected to be sold in Europe, including the UK, and to come in White and Black versions. There was no mention price, but as the HTC Desire 300 sells for around £135 SIM free, so we expect a similar price for the Desire 310.
