Christmas can be expensive, but you can save some money in the first few months of the New Year thanks to Three’s latest handset, SIM-only and mobile broadband deals.
From now until the 20th of December, Three is giving away three months free on new plans with 2GB of data or above, making for the perfect early Christmas present.
Depending on the plan you choose, that can amount to a huge saving. For example, if you grab the brilliant new iPhone 7 on a 24-month Essential Plan with 4GB of data and unlimited minutes, you can save £114 over two years, and the plan costs just £38 per month on the months you pay for.
Or if you’re more into Android you could grab a Samsung Galaxy S7 with 2GB of data and unlimited minutes for £33 per month – saving £99 over two years. The amazing Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge is a bit pricier at £37 per month on the same deal, but thanks to three months free you can save £111 on it.
More into Sony's flagships? Then how about the same offer on the powerful and stylish Sony Xperia XZ. This water-resistant phone can be had from £36 per month with 2GB of data, unlimited minutes and unlimited texts, and as you don't pay for three of those months you can save £108.
Three’s new deal works on cheaper handsets too, such as the Honor 8. This is already a great value phone, but it’s even better value when you don’t have to pay three months of your contract, allowing you to save for example £78 if you pick a 2GB of data Advanced Plan with 600 minutes.
Or for even more of a bargain check out the ZTE Blade V7. This stylish metal phone comes with three months free from just £20 per month - saving you £60 over the life of the contract. That's with no upfront cost and allowances of 2GB of data, unlimited minutes and unlimited texts.
If you’re more into tablets there’s a wide selection there too, including the Amazon Fire Kids Edition, which you can save £45 on if you get a 2GB of data contract – this is an ideal present for any children in the family.
Or if you want something more grown up, consider the Huawei MediaPad T1 7.0.This tablet comes in at a compact 7 inches, has a slim, metallic body and a long-lasting battery - so you can keep browsing and streaming all day.
All that and it comes with a free Huawei mobile broadband device to get you online and starts at just £12 per month with 2GB of data. Add in the three months free and you're getting at least a £36 saving.
And even if you don’t want or need a new device there’s still savings to be had with the same deal on a SIM-only plan.
Grab a 12-month Essential Plan with 2GB of data and 200 minutes for example and you’ll pay just £10 per month, and as the first three months cost nothing you’ll save £30 or 25%.
And that's not the only SIM card offer Three has at the moment, as it's also slashed 32% off the price of select 30GB SIM-only contracts.
In all cases, the free months are applied as a credit on your fourth bill, and if you choose an Advanced Plan you’ll be able to take advantage of all sorts of extras too, like free roaming in 42 destinations through Feel At Home.
