Sony released its first tablets after it split from the telecommunications arm of its Sony Ericsson dual-brand. Currently available Sony tablets run on Android and sport hardware design that set them apart from the sea of Android tablets.

For example, the dual-screen Tablet S (which doesn’t support 3G mobile internet), and the wedge-shaped Tablet P, designed for media viewing. Sony is also beginning to integrate its not inconsiderable resources from its gaming and media arms, with a universal remote feature – and hopefully, down the line, the ability to sync and play PlayStation 3 games.
