Read MoreThe iPhone 11 is one of the most exciting phones Apple has ever made, because not only is it high-end, it’s also much more affordable than a typical iPhone. In fact, it costs even less than the iPhone XR did at launch, and make no mistake, this is a much better phone.
It has Apple’s latest chipset, the A13 Bionic, which the company claims is not just the fastest it’s ever put in an iPhone, but the fastest you’ll find in any phone. So nothing should slow the iPhone 11 down.
It also has a dual-lens 12MP camera, with both a standard and ultra-wide lens. That might sound fairly ordinary, but these are high-quality lenses – the same as the ones you’ll find on the iPhone 11 Pro (though there’s one fewer here). They’re also backed up by a wealth of camera modes, including night, portrait, smart HDR, slow motion, and a whole lot more.
The design of the iPhone 11 is great too. Like the iPhone XS range before it there’s a screen-filled front, a metal frame and a glass back, and it benefits from water resistance, so it can survive a spill or a splash.
You get a 6.1-inch 828 x 1792 screen complete with Apple’s clever True Tone feature, which adjusts the white balance automatically to match the colour temperature of the light around you, and Apple promises an extra hour of life over the iPhone XR, which is impressive, given that until now that was the longest lasting iPhone.
Of course, this also has Apple’s slick Face ID facial recognition. Plus it ships with iOS 13 and is sure to get software updates for years to come. It’s available in a range of bright and not so bright colours, with up to 256GB of storage.
