The iPhone 13 Mini isn't as much of an upgrade as we'd have liked, but it's still the best small phone you can buy, and if you ignore how similar it is to the iPhone 12 Mini it's also an excellent handset.
The iPhone 13 Mini is the smallest and cheapest phone in the iPhone 13 range, but this is still a high-end handset with potentially more power than any Android phone.
Apple claims that its A15 Bionic chipset has a CPU that’s up to 50% faster than the competition, and graphics that are up to 30% faster. So this is a seriously speedy little phone.
And little it is, because the iPhone 13 Mini has just a 5.4-inch screen, making it one of the smallest smartphones you can get – and certainly one of the smallest high-end ones. So it’s great for fans of compact handsets, but with a crisp resolution of 1080 x 2340 it’s actually got a higher pixel density than the rest of the iPhone 13 range.
The iPhone 13 Mini also has surprisingly good battery life for such a small phone, offering up to 17 hours of life when watching videos. That amounts to up to 1.5 hours more than you’ll get from the iPhone 12 Mini.
The design is even better than before too, thanks to a smaller notch, and the cameras have been vastly improved, with better low light performance and new modes, such as Photographic Styles for selectively applied filters, and Cinematic mode for professional-looking videos.
