Overview

The iPhone 14 Pro Max is Apple’s ultimate smartphone and one of the very best phones of 2022 from any company.

This behemoth has a 6.7-inch 1290 x 2796 OLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate and as much high-end tech as the top Samsung phones. It also sports a new design, with no notch and a high-tech Dynamic Island instead, which is a black area housing the camera that can bubble up or shrink down as needed by the interface.

Of course the iPhone 14 Pro Max also has a colossal amount of power, with its A16 Bionic chipset being not just the best one in an iPhone, but the best in any phone of 2022. This is a better chipset than you’ll find in the standard iPhone 14 too, so if you want one of Apple’s most powerful handsets you’ve got to go Pro.

The cameras have had a huge upgrade this year as well, with a new 48MP main snapper in place of the previous generation’s 12MP one. This offers up to 4x the resolution of the camera on the iPhone 13 Pro Max – or the iPhone 14 – and has a 65% larger sensor than the iPhone 13 Pro.

It’s also designed for exceptional low-light performance – as are the 12MP ultra-wide, 12MP telephoto, and 12MP selfie cameras. Video isn’t left out either, with a new Action mode designed to keep footage steady no matter how unsteady and active you are.

The battery life of the iPhone 14 Pro Max is also superb, with up to 29 hours offered when watching video. That should see it outlast almost any other phone – including other iPhones.

The iPhone 14 Pro Max is packed full of new software features too, like an always-on display and a life-saving Crash Detection feature. And of course it has a high-end build, consisting of seriously tough Ceramic Shield protection on the display, surgical-grade stainless steel on the frame, and water resistance.

With up to 1TB of storage too, plus 5G, the latest version of iOS and years of support this is the ultimate iPhone now and will remain a superb smartphone for a long time to come.
