a monthThe iPhone 15 is the latest standard iPhone and it’s a huge upgrade on the iPhone 14 before it. Even at first glance, you can see that this is a newer, more exciting phone, as the screen is adorned with a Dynamic Island rather than a notch.
This feature was once exclusive to Pro models, but no longer, and it adds a black bubble in the screen that houses the cameras but can also display all sorts of information relevant to apps you’re using, like a timer, or album artwork for the song that’s playing. Tapping on this then takes you to the app in question, and it’s a genuinely useful mix of hardware and software.
The iPhone 15 also has some big camera upgrades, including a new 48MP main camera in place of the 12MP snapper of its predecessor. This new camera can take far higher resolution photos, and can even function as a 2x telephoto snapper, taking optical-quality photos at that level of zoom.
There’s a 12MP ultra-wide camera and a 12MP selfie camera too, so there are plenty of photography options here.
Of course, the iPhone 15 also has a power upgrade, with an A16 Bionic chipset that should see it surge ahead of almost all non-Apple rivals for performance.
The iPhone 15 has a USB-C port too, which is a first for an iPhone, and means you can finally use all the same chargers as you use for other devices to charge this.
With a crisp and compact 6.1-inch screen too, plus water and dust resistance, and the latest version of iOS, the iPhone 15 is a flagship phone without a Pro price tag.
