The Google Pixel 9 is Google’s latest AI-boosted phone, and this one feels even more like magic than the Pixel 8, thanks to numerous advanced AI features.

This phone has Google Gemini built in, and a whole heap of photography tools, like ‘Add Me’, which lets you stitch the photographer into group shots, and Photo Unblur, to sharpen blurry images, while Magic Editor lets you not just edit but completely transform your photos.

Away from photography, there’s Circle to Search, which lets you circle people or objects on your screen and have AI search the web for them, and Pixel Screenshots, which uses AI to organise and recall your screenshots.

Those are just a few examples of the AI features here, and we haven’t even talked about the Google Pixel 9’s hardware, which also impresses.

This phone has a 6.3-inch 1080 x 2424 OLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate, plus a large 4,700mAh battery designed to last for over 24 hours, and a bespoke Tensor G4 chipset. That chipset helps power all the Pixel 9’s AI features, as does the phone’s hefty 12GB of RAM.

The Google Pixel 9 also has a 50MP primary camera, a 48MP ultra-wide one (with a 123-degree field of view), and a 10.5MP front-facing camera, so the photography hardware is as capable as the AI-powered software.

And it has a new design, with a sleek, smart appearance, plus water resistance.

Plus, you get an in-screen fingerprint sensor, stereo speakers, and the Pixel 9 comes with the promise of seven years of operating system and security updates, which is among the longest support you’ll get with any phone.
