The Google Pixel 9 Pro XL is Google’s top non-foldable smartphone for 2024, combining everything great from the Pixel 9 Pro with a much larger 6.8-inch screen.

That display has a resolution of 1344 x 2992, coming in at 486 pixels per inch, and it has a 1-120Hz variable refresh rate, and can get extremely bright, topping out at 3,000 nits.

The larger size of this phone also allows for a huge 5,060mAh battery, which Google claims can last for over 24 hours, or for up to 100 hours when using Extreme Battery Saver mode.

Elsewhere, the Google Pixel 9 Pro XL has a Tensor G4 chipset, which you won’t find in any phone outside of the Pixel 9 line, and which is designed to excel at AI tasks. That’s joined by 16GB of RAM, which is far more than most phones have, and will also help with AI.

The cameras meanwhile include a 50MP main sensor, a 48MP ultra-wide snapper with a 123-degree field of view, and a 48MP telephoto camera with 5x optical zoom. There’s also an impressive 42MP camera on the front, and all of these cameras are backed up by AI tools to improve your photos both before and after you take them.

Indeed, there’s AI everywhere in this phone, helping you carry out tasks, find photos and information, identify things, summarize articles, screen calls, and more. If any handset can be called an AI phone, it’s this.

Plus, the Google Pixel 9 Pro XL has a smart, premium new design, with an aluminium frame and tough Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protecting the front and back, and it has an under-display fingerprint sensor, stereo speakers, and water and dust resistance.

The Pixel 9 Pro XL will also get seven years of operating system and security updates, including the regular addition of new software features through Pixel Drop updates.

So the Google Pixel 9 Pro XL is an excellent phone now and it’s sure to just keep on getting better as time goes on.
