The Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra is Samsung’s best phone as of 2023, and that’s likely to remain the case until the next model lands in 2024. It’s also a huge upgrade on the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra, with a way better camera and massively more power.

The camera is headlined by a new 200MP sensor, designed to excel in all conditions, including night shots. That’s joined by a 12MP ultra-wide camera and a pair of 10MP telephoto ones – one of which offers 3x optical zoom, and the other 10x, which is longer distance than almost any other phone allows.

As for the power upgrade, that comes from a new Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy chipset, which is the most powerful version of the most powerful Android chipset currently available – and it’s exclusive to Samsung phones, so you won’t get this much power on any other Android phone at the time of writing.

On top of that the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra has an enormous and sumptuous 6.8-inch 1440 x 3088 AMOLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate, plus masses of storage, a huge 5,000mAh battery, 45W fast charging, water resistance, and a tough build, with the glass protected by cutting-edge Gorilla Glass Victus 2, and the frame made using durable Armor Aluminium.

This phone even comes with an S Pen stylus – along with a slot to house it – so you can sketch, edit and write by hand with ease.

In all then the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra has class-leading power, one of the biggest and best screens you’ll find on a smartphone, an incredibly capable and versatile camera setup, and just about every other spec or feature you could ask for.
