We're already expecting Apple to launch the iPad 3 in the Spring of next year, but new reports suggest it won't be the only iPad launching in 2012.
New information suggests that Apple will launch a smaller version of the iPad late in 2012. Apparently Apple are worried about the success of the Amazon Kindle Fire, which Amazon have been selling at a loss to get an installed user-base.
According to Digitimes , Apple is producing a 7.85 inch iPad in response to the Amazon Kindle. We highly doubt it can compete with the pricing of the Amazon Kindle, but at least it'll offer a cheaper more compact alternative to the iPad 3.
Details about the new iPad , which could be called the iPad Mini, are scarce but we anticipate Apple including a lower specification to keep the cost as close as possible to the Amazon Kindle Fire.
Once any of the guys at 3G hear anything about the Apple iPad Mini we'll let you know.
