Earlier this month we heard that Google would be launching a whole range of Nexus smartphones to launch Android Jelly Bean (5.0).
These rumours have now re-surfaced and this time they are suggesting that Google will launch 5 Nexus handsets, which will be made by a variety of manufacturers. The specific manufacturers thought to be launching Nexus smartphones are Samsung, HTC, LG. Motorola and Sony.
The fresh information, reported by Talk Android, also suggested that the smartphones would launch to celebrate Android's 5th anniversary. That means we could see the version of Android and the range of Nexus smartphones as early as November 5th.
Google are also expected to offer the new Nexus range direct from their online store. The reason for this switch of policy is that they want to get as many unlocked smartphones on the market, so updates happen faster and applications don't get blocked by operators.
3G will keep you posted on all the news about Android 5.0 and the new Nexus range as and when we hear fresh information.
