Motorola is one of the best in the business at making high-quality budget phones and the new Moto G4 is one of its best yet in that category.
The phone starts at just £169 SIM free and can comfortably power through tasks with a 1.5GHz octa-core Snapdragon 617 processor and 2GB of RAM. Those are lower mid-range specs, at a price that’s little more than entry-level.
The Moto G4 also has a big and sharp 5.5-inch 1080 x 1920 screen, with a pixel density of 401 pixels per inch, so you can enjoy all your apps and media in high quality.
A 13MP rear camera and 5MP front-facing one ensures it can take great snaps and a choice of either 16GB or 32GB of storage, plus a microSD card slot, mean you’ll have plenty of space for them.
The Moto G4 also has a big 3000 mAh battery for all-day life, fast charging, 4G and a customisable design, allowing you to use Moto Maker to tweak the colours and even add engravings.
Or, if you want a little more power, you can grab the Moto G4 Plus, which ups the camera to 16MP, adds a fingerprint scanner and gives you more storage and RAM options, topping out at 64GB of the former and 4GB of the latter, with prices starting at a still reasonable £229.
Neither phone is out yet, but both can be ordered direct from Motorola, with a delivery estimate of June 21st, so you don’t have long to wait.
Other shops and networks are likely to start stocking them soon, so if you want to grab Motorola’s latest budget handsets elsewhere or on contract you’ll probably be able to before long.
