Sony have confirmed that neither the Xperia Arc S (pictured above) or the Xperia Mini Pro will be getting Android Jelly Bean. The news is bad for anyone with a 2011 Sony smartphone because it looks like none of them will get upgraded to the latest version of Android.
3G arn't expected that Sony's 2011 smartphones won't see the upgrade because it would be a lot of work to get them running on Google's new operating system. Even if the work is completed the experience might be hindered by lower specifications making it even more unappealing.
Our instincts tell us that all of Sony's 2012 smartphones will get Android 4.1, which is good news for owners of the Xperia Arc S , Xperia P and the Xperia U. As soon as we get more news from Sony you'll be the first to know.
Android Jelly Bean includes a number of new features including a redesigned user-interface, better widget management, support for actions in notifications and improvements to the Chrome browser. You can read all about Android Jelly Bean by clicking here.
