O2 have now launched a new MiFi device called the O2 Pocket HotSpot which is available from their store right now on selected Pay As You Go packages.
The Pocket Hotspot enables you to share a 3G mobile broadband connection with up to five other devices. For example, you can connect your smartphone, laptop, gaming device or tablet to the internet over WiFi using the Pocket Hotspot.
One of the other major uses is to share internet with your friends which is useful when travelling in a car or on a trip somewhere. It's very easy and fast to setup and even an inexperienced user should get it working within 5 minutes.
MiFi is a service launched by Three a good few years ago which enables a mobile broadband connection to be shared over a personal WiFi hotspot. Essentially, it works in the same way as tethering but on a larger scale.
The Pocket Hotspot is available to buy from O2 for £59.99 and you can choose to either pay per day which costs £2.14 for 200MB or choose from a choice of data bundles. For £10.21 you can get 1GB of mobile data which has to be used in a period of 30 days , or 2GB for £15.32 which also has to be used within a month.
