If you game on your phone, Three could soon be the network to be on, as it’s just teamed up with Razer – the world’s leading lifestyle brand for gamers.
The partnership is the first time Razer has ever joined forces with a mobile network, and it will see the launch of mobile devices and tariffs specifically aimed at gamers.
While Three hasn’t got any more specific than that, it’s easy to imagine that we could see the network’s unlimited data plans pushed more at gamers, and perhaps handsets pre-loaded with games, or Razer’s virtual currency - zGold. We may even see Razer-branded handsets exclusively on Three, offering all the power needed by gamers.
As the only UK network to offer plans with unlimited 4G data Three is the ideal partner for Razer, since games are increasingly played online, where a large data allowance is vital.
As well as new plans and offers, you might soon see Razer accessories in Three’s stores. In fact, the company has already started selling them in Denmark. The network notes that a series of joint gaming promotions are also in the works, so expect to start seeing the fruits of this collaboration soon.
And it’s a collaboration that could benefit many. 2.3 million of Razer’s registered users within Three’s global footprint and there are many more mobile gamers than that even, with $27 billion dollars going into mobile gaming in 2015 alone according to newZoo 2015 Global Games Market.
Susan Buttsworth, CEO of Three International Opportunities Development, said: “The Three Group has always embraced developing trends in the mobile sector, and mobile gaming and eSports are definitely on the rise.”
“Three’s partnership with Razer underscores our commitment to customers who are casual fans as well as those who are avid gamers of mobile eSports.”
