Two new JCB Toughphones are now available to buy in the UK, which is great news for all those working in dangerous environments and those who love a robust mobile.
The first new JCB smartphone is the Toughphone Pro-Smart (pictured above), which is the first JCB mobile to run on Google Android. The Pro-Smart runs on Android Gingerbread, which isn't the most up to date version but gives it a big advantage over a lot of other tough-phones available.
The Toughphone JCB Smart-Pro has IP67 specification which means it is scratch and dust resistant and is water resistant for up to 30 minutes in water up to a depth of 1 metre. Like all JCB mobiles this makes it the perfect smartphone for building site workers.
The specification of the Toughphone Smart-Pro includes a 3.2 inch touch-screen, 800 Mhz processor and support for both Bluetooth and WiFi. However, it's the inclusion of Android that really sets this mobile apart !
The second new JCB smartphone is the Toughphone Sitemaster 2 (on left), which is also IP67 resistant but also can survive drops from 2m heights and has been tested under pressures of 1 tonne.
The JCB Sitemaster 2's specification includes a 2 inch touch-screen, 2 mega-pixel camera , FM radio and support for both Bluetooth and WiFi. You also get a 2 year warranty with the smartphone which is a huge bonus.
Both mobiles are currently available to buy from the Clove with the JCB Toughphone Pro-Smart is priced at £314, while the Sitemaster 2 is available for just £114.
