Overview

If you simply want the biggest, best iPhone around, then the iPhone 11 Pro Max is surely it. It’s essentially an iPhone 11 Pro, but with a bigger 6.5-inch screen and a larger 3,500mAh battery.

That battery is good for five more hours of life than the one in the iPhone XS Max, which should make it the longest lasting iPhone of this or any generation.

That screen meanwhile is a 1242 x 2688 one with 458 pixels per inch, support for HDR10, a blinding max brightness of 1,200 nits, and a stunning contrast ratio of 2,000,000:1. It’s the best screen you’ll find on an iPhone and one of the best you’ll find on any phone. And while the iPhone 11 Pro has the same display, it’s arguably better here for being so much bigger.

The iPhone 11 Pro Max is the best when it comes to power too, as its A13 Bionic chipset can – according to Apple – outmatch any Android handset. So this phone should feel fast for years to come.

It has also got an impressive camera setup, with a 12MP main lens, a 12MP telephoto one and a 12MP ultra-wide one. Being Apple, these can take great shots when you simply point and shoot, but the included night mode (coupled with the lenses being able to take in up to 40% more light and the flash being brighter than before) means that shots also look great in the dark.

There are all sorts of other modes and features too, including innovative additions like slow motion selfie videos using the 12MP front-facing camera. A camera which also powers a new and improved version of Face ID that’s now faster than ever.

The iPhone 11 Pro Max also has a premium, deceptively durable build, with glass on both the front and back that’s supposedly stronger than any other smartphone glass, coupled with water resistance to depths of 4 metres for up to 30 minutes.

Of course, you also get iOS 13, Siri, wireless charging, fast charging, and all the other features you’d expect from a modern Apple flagship.
