Read MoreThe iPhone 7 is Apple’s latest flagship and it’s a deserving successor to the iPhone 6S, with more power, more style and improvements across the board.
Starting with the design, the iPhone 7 has less visible antenna bands, for a more refined finish to the all-metal shell, and comes in a stunning new jet black shade. It’s also dust proof and water resistant for the first time in an Apple phone.
The 4.7-inch screen is 25% brighter than before, for improved outdoor visibility, and the new quad-core A10 Fusion processor is 40% faster than the chip in the iPhone 6S, as well as being lighter on the battery.
Speaking of the battery, that’s had a boost too, offering an average of two hours’ extra life, while the camera has been completely overhauled, with a new larger 12MP lens designed to let more light in, for more detailed shots.
The iPhone 7 also has optical image stabilisation, to avoid blur, and a quad-LED flash, for great photos even in low-light, while around the front there’s a 7MP camera for top selfies and high-quality FaceTime calls.
The home button has been tweaked, to offer vibration instead of a physical click, and the headphone port has been removed, adding space for all the improved internals and a second speaker, allowing the iPhone 7 to deliver loud stereo sound.
In all it’s a huge improvement on the iPhone 6S and it’s available from September 16th, starting at £599 SIM-free.
On contract the iPhone 7 starts at around £36 a month with £149 upfront, which isn’t cheap, but is easily justified for what’s one of the very best phones of 2016.
