Galaxy Note 3 update released to fix S-View case bug

 Galaxy Note 3 S-View Case

Samsung have released an update for the Galaxy Note 3 to resolve an issue that stopped third-party S-View cases from working with their phablet.

The new firmware is now rolling out and owners of the Galaxy Note 3 should get notification of its availability very soon.

In order to install the update you need to already have installed Android KitKat (4.4), but if you havn't already updated to the latest version of Android then you won't be suffering from the bug anyway.

The problem, which we first reported on back in January, meant that S-View mode no longer activated when third-party S-View cases were closed. However, some of our readers also reported the problem was affecting their official Samsung S-View case.

Initially, Samsung denied that the problem was related to the Android KitKat update released for the Galaxy Note 3. However, they quickly changed their mind and havn't taken long to issue a fix.

The release of the fix will be a huge relief to those who bought pricey third-party cases for their Galaxy Note 3 (such as the Spigen Slim Armor View case).
