Overview

The Samsung Galaxy A53 is a mid-range phone that offers much of what you’d get in a high-end handset like the Samsung Galaxy S22.

That includes a high-end 6.5-inch Super AMOLED screen, which has a smooth 120Hz refresh rate, a crisp 1080 x 2400 resolution, and 405 pixels per inch.

The camera setup here is superb too, with a 64MP f/1.8 main one, a 12MP f/2.2 ultrawide one, a 5MP f/2.4 macro one, and a 5MP f/2.4 depth one. The main camera in particular excels, whether you’re taking photos of buildings, people or landscapes, and there’s a great 32MP camera on the front too.

Battery life is another highlight of the Samsung Galaxy A53, as the phone has a big 5,000mAh battery with speedy 25W charging – that’s the same charging speed and a bigger battery size than the Galaxy S22.

The phone looks great too, with a slim 8.1mm thick build, small bezels, tough Gorilla Glass 5 protecting the screen, and water resistance to depths of 1 metre for up to 30 minutes.

All that and there’s a solid amount of power, plenty of storage, a microSD card slot, Dolby Atmos stereo speakers, and an under-display fingerprint scanner. It’s a feature-packed phone then, and one with an attractively low price, making this an excellent value choice.
