New results from Nielsen's April survey of US mobile users shows that both smartphone sales and Android continue to grow in leaps and bounds.
In fact Nielsen's latest survey confirms that 37 percent of mobile users now own a smartphone and that Android is the most used operating system.
Breaking down the figures shows that 36% of smartphones users chose Android smartphones with Apple claiming 26% for its iOS based handsets and 23% for BlackBerry.
The analysis of data useage shows that 79% of iPhone owners downloaded apps within the month of April whilst 74 percent of Android users did too.
Nielsen's latest research also looked at 65,000 bills for smartphone users and this showed that an average of 580MB of mobile data was used by Android users and for iPhone users this was 490MB.
