Three have announced they are removing the “adult filter” from all of their Pay Monthly mobile broadband contracts.
The filter by law has to be applied to all connections sold to those under 18. However, because you need to be over 18 to take out a monthly contract Three has elected to remove the filter. Three decided to take this action because the filter was often blocking a lot more than the “adult” content it was meant to.
However, those who may be buying the connection for someone under 18 can easily have the filter re-instated by texting “Filter” to 33333, which is free.
However, those on Pay As You Go will have to go into a Three store or call customer services to do a credit/debit check to remove the adult filter.
