Three customers now have access to easyJet’s Hands Free service, a handy way to ditch your cabin bag (plus get other perks) which would usually cost extra.
Three was already a great choice for travel, thanks to its Feel At Home Around the World service letting you use your allowances in the EU and beyond at no extra cost, but now it’s got even better for anyone who ever flies with easyJet.
Below you’ll find all the information you’ll need on what Hands Free is, how to use it and why you’d want to.
Hands Free is an easyJet service which lets you drop your cabin bag off at the check-in desk, so you don’t have to carry it around with you.
That also means you won’t be restricted on the amount of liquids you can carry if you’re travelling just with hand luggage, and should make getting through security quicker and easier. Plus, you won’t have to worry about getting an overhead locker on the plane.
Of course, you’ll probably want to carry some things onto the plane with you, and you still can, as you’ll get a Three tote bag when you hand over your cabin bag, so you can still take the few essentials with you on board.
With Hands Free you can also board the plane faster, as you’ll be able to do so straight after Speedy Boarding is complete.
And while you will have to wait for your hand luggage when you land you shouldn’t be waiting long, as your bag will be given a priority tag, ensuring it’s one of the first to hit the baggage carousel at the other end.
To get Hands Free at no extra cost you just have to be a Three Pay Monthly customer. If you are, simply text "UPGRADE", followed by your easyJet flight number, date of travel and your last name to 88555.
You’ll then receive a confirmation text which you should hold on to, as you’ll need to show this at the check-in desk. Then you’ll be ready for the Hands Free experience.
As often as you like. However, when using it through Three it’s only available for your own personal use and only on UK outbound flights.
Not through Three, however if you’d like the same service on your return flight you can purchase it through easyJet for £5.
No, only one person can use it and that person has to be the account holder. So if you’re travelling with people who want to use it too they’ll need to either be on an eligible Three plan as well or pay for Hands Free through easyJet.
easyJet charges £5 per person each way for Hands Free.
Three’s Pay Monthly phone and SIM Only plans all come with Hands Free and if you’re an existing customer on a Pay Monthly phone or SIM plan you’ll also have it.
If you’re on a Pay Monthly phone or SIM plan you should have Hands Free, but if in doubt you can always contact Three. Or, if you have an easyJet flight booked just text "UPGRADE", followed by your easyJet flight number, date of travel and your last name to 88555. The text you get in reply will tell you whether you’re eligible for Hands Free or not.
It’s the same as easyJet’s standard hand luggage size, specifically 56cm x 45cm x 25 cm, including handles and wheels.
Simply wait until Speedy Boarding is complete, then show your Hands Free tag to the crew at the boarding gate.
If you’re told you’re not eligible or have any other problems with Hands Free you can call Three on 500 from a Three phone or 0333 338 1003 from any other phone. Just make sure you have your mobile number, password, address and date of birth to hand before doing so.
