Three Easyjet Travel Upgrades

Update: Three no longer offer free upgrades onto easyJet's Hands Free service. Existing vouchers cannot be reclaimed.

Three customers now have access to easyJet’s Hands Free service, a handy way to ditch your cabin bag (plus get other perks) which would usually cost extra.

Three was already a great choice for travel, thanks to its Go Roam Around the World service letting you use your allowances in the EU and beyond at no extra cost, but now it has got even better for anyone who ever flies with easyJet.

Below you’ll find all the information you’ll need on what Hands Free is, how to use it and why you’d want to.

What is Hands Free?

Hands Free is an easyJet service which lets you drop your cabin bag off at the easyJet Plus Bag Drop desk on any easyJet UK outbound flight, so you don’t have to carry it around with you.

That also means you won’t be restricted on the amount of liquids you can carry if you’re travelling just with hand luggage, and should make getting through security quicker and easier. Plus, you won’t have to worry about getting an overhead locker on the plane.

Of course, you’ll probably want to carry some things onto the plane with you, and you still can, as you’ll get a Three tote bag when you hand over your cabin bag, so you can still take the few essentials with you on board.

What other benefits are there to Hands Free?

With Hands Free you can also board the plane faster, as you’ll be able to do so straight after Speedy Boarding is complete.

And while you will have to wait for your hand luggage when you land you shouldn’t be waiting long, as your bag will be given a priority tag, ensuring it’s one of the first to hit the baggage carousel at the other end.

How do I get Hands Free?

You can get Hands Free at no extra cost whether you’re a Three Pay Monthly, SIM Only, Business or Pay As You Go customer.

In all cases you need to download Three’s Wuntu app, then for everyone except Pay As You Go customers it’s a case of heading to the ‘Travel’ section of the app, selecting the easyJet upgrade, and filling in your name and flight details. Once this is done you’ll find a voucher for Hands Free under ‘My Codes’ and you’ll be ready to head to the easyJet Plus Bag Drop desk.

Alternatively you can text "UPGRADE", followed by your easyJet flight number, date of travel and your last name to 88555.

You’ll then receive a confirmation text which you should hold on to, as you’ll need to show this at the check-in desk. Then you’ll be ready for the Hands Free experience.

If you’re a Pay As You Go customer you’ll need to download the Wuntu app and opt in to Pay As You Go Rewards in the app. Then you’ll be able to claim 1 free upgrade to Hands Free every time you purchase a £35 Unlimited Add-on. Or alternatively you can select Hands Free as a reward when you reach a new rewards tier.

FAQs

How often can I use Hands Free?

As often as you like. However, when using it through Three it’s only available for your own personal use and only on UK outbound flights.

Can I use Hands Free on the return flight?

Not through Three, however if you’d like the same service on your return flight you can purchase it through easyJet for £7.

Can anyone else use Hands Free on my account?

No, only one person can use it and that person has to be the account holder. So if you’re travelling with people who want to use it too they’ll need to either be on an eligible Three plan as well or pay for Hands Free through easyJet.

How much does easyJet usually charge for Hands Free?

easyJet charges £7 per person each way for Hands Free. Alternatively ‘Hands Free Group’ is available for 3-6 passengers for £16.

What plans are eligible for Hands Free?

Three’s Pay Monthly phone and SIM Only plans all come with Hands Free and if you’re an existing customer on a Pay Monthly phone or SIM plan you’ll also have it. Business customers also get it. Pay As You Go customers can get it but only as part of Pay As You Go Rewards, as explained above.

What if I’m not sure whether I have Hands Free?

If you’re on a Pay Monthly phone or SIM plan or a Business plan you should have Hands Free, but if in doubt you can always contact Three. Or, if you have an easyJet flight booked just text "UPGRADE", followed by your easyJet flight number, date of travel and your last name to 88555. The text you get in reply will tell you whether you’re eligible for Hands Free or not.

What’s the size limit for bags?

It’s the same as easyJet’s standard hand luggage size, specifically 56cm x 45cm x 25cm, including handles and wheels.

How do I take advantage of fast boarding?

Simply wait until Speedy Boarding is complete, then show your Hands Free tag to the crew at the boarding gate.

What if I’m having problems using Hands Free?

If you’re told you’re not eligible or have any other problems with Hands Free you can call Three on 333 from a Three phone or 0333 338 1001 from any other phone. Just make sure you have your mobile number, password, address and date of birth to hand before doing so.
