Overview

Alcatel Plus 10

When is a tablet not a tablet? When it’s also a laptop, and while two-in-one devices tend to be expensive, the Alcatel Plus 10 is a bargain.

This Windows 10 slate has a 10.1-inch screen, giving you the size to multitask, work, browse and watch videos in comfort, with dual speakers providing stereo sound.

But it also has a detachable keyboard. Hook that up and you’ve got all the power of a laptop, complete with an extra 5830mAh of battery, on top of the 2580mAh built into the slate itself.

And if you don’t need to type you can use the keyboard as a stand in ‘docking mode’, so you can watch videos without holding the tablet.

And in some ways the Alcatel Plus 10 is actually a three-in-one device, as it’s also a Wi-Fi hotspot, which can get up to 15 other devices online over 4G if you stick a SIM card in it.

Many tablets don’t support mobile data – let alone have the ability to work as a hotspot – so that’s a major selling point.

The Alcatel Plus 10 also has a 5MP rear camera and a 2MP front-facing one, ideal for use as a webcam. There’s a generous 32GB of storage built in and a microSD card slot for plenty more space, plus a full-size USB port for connecting other devices, such as a mouse.

All that and it’s fairly compact at 259.3 x 156.2 x 8.35, and has quad-core power plus 2GB of RAM.
