Like the Razer Phone before it, the Razer Phone 2 is a phone built for gamers, and it succeeds in its goal.

So what does being built for gamers mean? Well, it starts with the screen, which is a 5.72-inch 1440 x 2560 one with a 120Hz refresh rate. That refresh rate means the display is smoother and more responsive than most other phones, while the resolution ensures it’s competitively sharp.

The screen is also 50% brighter than on the original Razer Phone and it has better colour accuracy, as well as support for HDR. That’s all great for games but will benefit video and general use as well.

Of course, any good gaming phone needs plenty of power, and the Razer Phone 2 doesn’t disappoint there either. It has a top-end Snapdragon 845 chipset and a massive 8GB of RAM for performance that can outclass most flagships.

It also sports a vapour-chamber cooling system, which helps keep the phone cooler while running at full speed.

And you get big sound, thanks to two large front-firing stereo speakers featuring Dolby Atmos, while if you prefer headphones there’s support for 24-bit audio, helping you get the most out of your music.

The Razer Phone 2 also has a light-up logo on the back, with customisable colours, giving it an eye-catching, personalised look. And with IP67 water resistance it can survive the rain or an accidental dunk.

The Razer Phone 2 also has a big 4,000mAh battery, delivering lots of life even when you’re gaming, and it supports both fast charging and wireless charging.

Plus, there’s a dual-lens camera on the back, consisting of both a 12MP f/1.75 wide-angle lens with optical image stabilisation, and a 12MP f/2.6 telephoto lens, along with support for video recording in 4K quality.

Storage meanwhile comes in at 64GB along with a microSD card slot, and the Razer Phone 2 uses the highly-customisable Nova Launcher Prime interface on top of Android. In other words, then, this is a phone that’s built for gamers but great for almost anyone.
