ZTE Blade V7

The ZTE Blade V7 defies all expectations of a budget smartphone, but budget it is, at £129.99 on Three pay as you go, or from just £9 per month with no upfront cost on a two-year contract (for which you’ll get 500MB of data, 300 minutes and unlimited texts).

You might not expect much for that sort of money, but the ZTE Blade V7 impresses at every turn, starting with its full metal body, giving it a premium appearance and feel.

Boot it up and you’ll be greeted by a 5.2-inch 1080 x 1920 edge-to-edge screen, coming in at a crisp 424 pixels per inch, so your videos, photos and apps will look great on the phone.

And they’ll run brilliantly too, thanks to a 1.3GHz octa-core processor and 2GB of RAM – which is a far higher spec than you’d usually get at this price.

There’s a surprisingly strong 13MP rear camera included too, with a dual-LED flash to provide natural lighting to dark images.

With 16GB of storage, a microSD card slot and near-stock Android Marshmallow too there’s a whole lot to like here.

But the ZTE Blade V7 really comes into its own when paired with Three (which is the exclusive UK network provider for the phone anyway), as it’s the cheapest handset on the network to offer 4G Super-Voice, which lets you make calls over 4G, but more importantly it leads to improved coverage in rural and indoor locations.

In other words, if you ever experience signal blackspots, they should be far less common with the ZTE Blade V7.

Being on Three you’ll also be able to make use of other benefits, like free roaming abroad through Feel At Home, and with its low price and impressive specs the ZTE Blade V7 is the ideal phone to do all this on.
