Overview

Honor 7A

The Honor 7A could take the budget world by storm, as it packs in a bunch of high-end features for a very entry-level price.

Highlights include a face unlock feature, which means you can unlock your phone just by looking at it, but there’s also a fingerprint scanner if you’d rather do things that way.

The Honor 7A also has a big screen, coming in at 5.7 inches and 720 x 1440. Like many modern handsets the bezels are kept to the minimum, especially at the sides, giving you an edge-to-edge display, and the Honor 7A also has an 18:9 aspect ratio, which is another modern design choice, one which makes it more widescreen than older phones and ideal for watching movies on.

The Honor 7A’s battery should impress too, as it’s 3,000mAh and Honor promises that it can see you through a day, even with heavy use. It should also hold up over time, as it can maintain over 80% of its capacity even after 800 full recharges.

Another thing that’s worth highlighting is the dual-SIM slot, meaning the Honor 7A supports two SIM cards at once, ideal if for example you have both a work and personal SIM but don’t want to carry two phones.

There’s also a microSD card slot (which in a rare move can be used even if you’re also using two SIM cards), so you can bulk up the already-generous 32GB of supplied storage, and you get an octa-core chipset paired with 2GB of RAM for stable performance, whatever you use your phone for.

A 13MP rear camera will serve your photography needs, while its 8MP front-facing camera is great for selfies, especially as it includes an adjustable selfie toning light.

The Honor 7A also runs an up to date version of Android and has a surprisingly powerful speaker, all of which combines to put it at the very top tier of budget phones.
